             ITALIAN LANGUAGE LEVELS

            The "Certificate of Studies" have been calibrated on the 

          Council of Europe Levels (A1, A2 - B1, B2 - C1, C2)

        ELEMENTARY 1

The student can express him/herself in simple daily situations and to understand basic information.

*A1 - ELEMENTARY 2

The student can talk about past experience, future plans and can communicate accurately at an elementary level, both orally and in writing.

*A2 - INTERMEDIATE 1

The student can express him/herself using grammatical structures of a medium difficulty level, for example making suggestions, expressing desires etc.

*B1 - INTERMEDIATE 2

The student has a secure knowledge of language required in certain situations, and has increasingly fluent expression in writing and speaking.

*B2 - ADVANCED 1

The student can communicate fluently and accurately, he/she can express personal opinions and debate arguments and particular topics. The student can write and understand texts of medium difficulty.

*C1 - AVANCED 2

The student has attained a high level of written and spoken Italian and can actively participate in lively discussions on current events.

*C2 - TOWARDS PERFECTION

The student is equipped to express him/herself accurately and fluently in any situations,- both in daily life and the working world.

        CULTURE

The course includes a brief history of Italian literature; presentation of the most important contemporary writers and the reading of some of their works; study of certain Italian regions and their position in Italian history: analysis of the social, political and literary aspects of Italy today.

        CONVERSATION

At various levels based on the requirements of the students
